Samus metroid prime2/21/2023 ![]() Villainous Glutton: Spends most of the first two games eating or looking for the next meal.Sequential Boss: Metroid Prime has two forms to fight and the final shootout with Dark Samus goes through several phases. It is highly manueverable, quick (but still prone to telegraphing), stealthy but doens't hit too hard. Metroid Prime's core is more of a Stone Wall though. Dark Samus puts more emphasis on the "lightning", but is roughly as powerful as Samus herself while being much quicker, more manueverable, having more defensive options and not above simply smacking her up close. Lightning Bruiser: Armored Metroid Prime puts more emphasis on the "bruiser" with its bulk and highly telegraphed movements, but it is still increadibly fast with bulk that makes it nearly impossible to dodge if you don't move during its tells. It Can Think: Both Metroid Prime and Dark Samus are deceptively smarter than their appearances (and origins) let on.I Have Many Names: Various factions call it different things, including Metroid Prime, The Worm, Dark Samus, and the Dark Hunter.Dark Samus is also defeated with her own phazon twice, but she cannot necessarily help being composed of the substance necessary to do her in now can she? Hoist by Their Own Petard: Once Metroid Prime's armor is broken its core will periodically leak phazon, and since Samus is infected with the vertigo strand she can produce the energy necessarily to injure Metroid Prime by standing in these puddles.Despite Samus defeating it, Metroid Prime would be reborn as Dark Samus, who would also be one of the antagonists of the second game, and would become the primary antagonist of the final game, and by extension, the final antagonist of the whole trilogy. The Heavy: Serves as this for the Prime Trilogy, with Metroid Prime being one of the antagonists of the first game.Years later, it would become even more of a nightmare by becoming Dark Samus, a dark mirror of Samus Aran made of pure Phazon, who took over the Space Pirates and came dangerously close to taking over the galaxy. From Nobody to Nightmare: It started out as a simple Metroid before being heavily corrupted by the Leviathan that crashed on Tallon IV and turning into the monstrous Metroid Prime, a creature that the Chozo were forced to seal away. Both wore mechanical suits with similar abilities (the beam weapons, missiles, the tractor beam attack similar to the grapple beam) and a blue 'true form' under it (the Essence for Metroid Prime and the Zero Suit for Samus). Evil Counterpart: Dark Samus is an obvious one, but even the original Metroid Prime had similarities to Samus.Dark Samus is especially feared by the Space Pirates of Aether and The Homeworld, as well as The Galactic Federation. The Dreaded: Metroid Prime is this to the disembodied Chozo, who cannot defeat it in the state they are in and are convinced their Tailor-Made Prison for it will eventually be escaped from. This could explain how the Metroid Prime Trilogy Switch port could exist behind close doors without Hale knowing about it. Since Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch is a port of an existing game, it wouldn't necessarily call for any new voice work to be recorded. ![]() Jennifer Hale seemingly being unaware of Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch may make some fans think that the rumors about the project are false, but that's not necessarily the case. RELATED: Fan-Made 2D Metroid Prime Game Gets Demo Release The most likely scenario is that Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch will have slightly improved graphics and not much else, though that's just speculation at this time as Nintendo hasn't even confirmed that it exists yet. This could be a strong indication that Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch is a straight port with no new content, so fans should expect an experience near-identical to the Wii version. If the Metroid Prime Trilogy Switch port does exist, it seems as though Hale has not been contacted about it. ![]()
